E-Learning

In collaboration with BSNL-Puducherry E-Learning program was started with a team of Teachers. Department of Education, Pondicherry has given Special permission for the teachers to conduct E-learning classes.

Using ICT as an instrument PMSSS has started e-learning program with the support of CRS (Catholic Relief Services) in all the Village Information Centers established in Coastal Villages. It mainly focuses slow learners and dropouts. It generally pays attention to SSLC and Higher Secondary Students who are going to appear for public examination. It covers English, Maths and Science for SSLC and Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology for Higher Secondary. Using Internet the villages are connected with the Hub center (PMSSS). Content telecast from the server, reaches the village through broadband connectivity.

Teachers come to PMSSS studio. The classes are recorded and telecast via Server. The class will be available in the website www.etutor.bsnl.co.in. Any one can view at any time.

This program is also telecast through Local Cable TV channels to cover more students. Students clarify their doubts through emails and also by calling the teachers using phone.
The interactive internet and email platform makes the students ask their doubts and exchange their ideas thereby developing answers to learning goals. This e-learning program is going momentum day by day.
In the year 2008 out of 58 students also followed the e-Learning 54 have passed. This makes other students also join in the e-learning program.

An appreciation program was conducted by Rainbow TV to appreciate the Teachers and the students who scored above 70% mark through e-Learning program.
