COVID -19 RELIEF WORK 2020
 

The first case of the 2019-2020 Coronavirus pandemic in India was reported on 30th January 2020, originating from China. As of 1st April 2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have confirmed a total of 1,637 cases, 133 recovering (including migrants) and 38 deaths in the country. The infection rate of COVID-19 in India is reported to be 1.7, significantly lower than in the worst affected countries.

With the Support of Caritas India, TASOSS, Feeding India, Child Fund India, New Trust Program, Child Line 1098, SPICMA, and local contribution we have distributed the dry rations kit for the needy and most vulnerable families as per the special criteria and the present situation will not come to an end. India’s deadly Covid second wave has devastated big cities during the month of April 2021. Hospitals and crematorium have run out space, and funerals are taking place in car parks and scarcity of oxygen leads to lots of death. Amid the rise in COVID-19 cases, the Union Territory of Puducherry declared lockdown. Most of the people suffered a lot and needed urgent focus. The municipal sweeper and rag pickers who will not get one day off; the migrant workers with no roof over their heads; and the small shopkeepers who are keeping supply lines going they will all need significant economic assistance. The poor have no food or drink and even they sat down thinking how to feed their family. This is the current situation of many poor innocent peoples of each and every states of India. Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver, Italy supported with Dry Ration Kit for 350 families who have lost their livelihood due to lockdown and suffering with financial constraints. Training session conducted for the volunteers for the safe and secure distribution. The distribution was completed by following all safety protocol and provided Food kit, and health kit for the volunteers, who work for distribution.
